 Act as Manager in his absence running the day to day matters of the R&D department  Implement F1 delivery schedules for all R&D projects from initiation to pre-production  Plan and implement strategies for new products and R&D projects developed in F1  Initiate, develop and drive research activities in all materials, processes and technologies  Engineering Lead with respect to 3D printed structures  Engineering authority relating to all COSHH and Risk Assessments  Provide new technologies, materials and processes for new product development  Engineering authority for materials and processes including polymers and composites  Derive and support standards for testing, assembly and manufacturing  Create and review patent applications in accordance with regulations  Budgetary control for main development projects  Value of core projects (Class 1 Medical Devices) in excess of £8Mil  Initiate and develop collaborations with new partners and UK institutes
